(COLUMBUS)—Recognizing his decades of strong leadership in Columbus neighborhoods and City government, Councilmember Hearcel F. Craig, chair of the Minority and Small Business Development Committee, has been named the recipient of the 2008 Humanitarian Award presented by the Executive Board of Dynamic Leadership, Inc.
Craig, who also chairs the Judiciary and Court Administration Committee, has been singled out by Dynamic Leadership for his “efforts in fighting for justice, equality, pride, dignity and human rights for all.”
“It is truly an honor to be chosen to receive this prestigious award,” said Craig. “Groups like Dynamic Leadership help to create a community that is inclusive and welcoming of all individuals. The ideals that serve as the backbone of this organization, a sense of service to others and self-sacrifice, are the same principles that I have relied on during my years in public service.”
Dynamic Leadership, Inc. promotes projects to improve community relations and to encourage participation in various social activities sponsored by the organization. Humanitarian Awards are presented yearly to individuals chosen by the executive board members. The award is presented to people who have contributed and taken positive steps to promote and enhance affirmative action.
