Mayor and City Council to Tour and Dedicate $106 Million Improvements for Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant

Project part of a $346 million site upgrade and $2.5 billion Wet Weather Management Plan to protect local rivers

(Columbus) The City of Columbus continues to move forward on a $2.5 billion, 40 year plan, to protect the rivers and streams of Central Ohio with massive improvements to the sewer and water infrastructure. These EPA mandated improvements are a major part of the reason for increases in local water and sewer bills for businesses and homeowners. Mayor Michael B. Coleman and members of Columbus City Council will tour the latest project, a $106 million upgrade to the headworks at the Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant on Monday.
